Developer Track (Option 1): As Internet technologies have evolved, so too has CIW/Web Master, the industry-standard Internet-technology and job-readiness certification program. The Webmaster Certificate Program provides a well-rounded foundation in web design. Students can pick from three specialization tracks: Developer (which has two options), Design/Media, or Administration. This is truly a unique certification that allows the participant to explore different skill sets and to specialize in their area of interest. Courses are offered in a flexible format of day, evening or weekend. A capstone project is required after obtaining the professional designation to complete this certificate program. In the customized developer track – option 1, students will complete over 90 hours of distinctively designed training in the following areas: JavaScript Level 2, SQL for Web Developers, XML, Perl Introduction and CGI, PHP Level 1 and finally preparation for the CIW Application Developer Exam 1D0-342. Each component is broken down into manageable courses to assist participants in successfully receiving the designation of CIW Professional. CIW Web Developers create and maintain Web applications through programming, scripting and/or server administration. This certification validates the skills and knowledge required to assemble and maintain Java-based Web applications. Web Developers focus on the business-requirements aspect of the application development cycle. The candidate must pass one required CIW exam to become a CIW Web Developer. Alternatively, under an agreement with IBM, candidates who have passed IBM Exam 154 may request to be to be granted the CIW Web Developer certification as well. The Web Developer exam validates skills in using development tools to assemble J2EE-centric Web solutions consisting of thin-client Web applications that interact with business services, databases and Web services. Skills include writing application control logic, writing application display logic, utilizing business services and exposing application components using business services. The target audience for the CIW Web Developer certification is ideal for software developers and application programmers. As a member of a development team, a CIW Web Developer is responsible for implementing the front end of the system's architecture. In the customized developer track – option 2, students will complete over 75 hours of distinctively designed training in the following areas: JavaScript Level 2, SQL for Web Developers, XML, ASP.Net Level 1 and 2, and finally preparation for the MS.Net Exam 70-305, MCAD: MICROSOFT CERTIFIED APPLICATION DEVELOPER FOR .NET which covers: Creating User Services, Creating and Managing Components and .NET Assemblies, Consuming and Manipulating Data, Testing and Debugging, Deploying a Web Application, Maintaining and Supporting a Web Application, Configuring and Securing a Web Applications. Each component is broken down into manageable courses to assist participants in successfully receiving the designation of MCAD. Candidates for this exam work on a team in a medium or large development environment that uses Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, Enterprise Developer Edition. Candidates should have at least one year of experience developing Web-based applications. Candidates should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Basic .NET. This certification exam measures your ability to develop and implement Web-based applications with Web forms, ASP.NET, and the Microsoft .NET Framework.
