As Internet technologies have evolved, so too has CIW/Web Master, the industry-standard Internet-technology and job-readiness certification program. The Webmaster Certificate Program provides a well-rounded foundation in web design. Students can pick from three specialization tracks: Developer (which has two options), Design/Media, or Administration. This is truly a unique certification that allows the participant to explore different skill sets and to specialize in their area of interest. Courses are offered in a flexible format of day, evening or weekend. A capstone project is required after obtaining the professional designation to complete this certificate program. In the customized Design/Media track, students will complete over 35 hours of distinctively designed training in the following areas: Photoshop Level 1, DreamWeaver Level 2, Flash MX Level 1 or 2, Implementing Streaming Media and finally preparation for the CIW Application Developer Exam 1D0-420. The CIW Site Designer exam 1D0-420 will be retired June 30, 2006. The CIW v5 Site Designer exam 1D0-520 will be released November 30, 2005. Each component is broken down into manageable courses to assist participants in successfully receiving the designation of CIW Professional. The CIW Site Designer certification is ideal for Web authors, marketing and communications professionals, PR professionals, Webmasters, graphic designers, desktop publishers, technical writers and library scientists. CIW Site Designers implement and maintain hypertext-based Web sites using authoring and scripting languages, create Web content, use Web management tools and digital media tools, and apply human-factor principles to design.
