| As Internet technologies have evolved, so too has CIW/Web Master, the industry-standard Internet-technology and job-readiness certification program. The Webmaster Certificate Program provides a well-rounded foundation in web design. Students can pick from three specialization tracks: Developer (which has two options), Design/Media, or Administration. This is truly a unique certification that allows the participant to explore different skill sets and to specialize in their area of interest. Courses are offered in a flexible format of day, evening or weekend. A capstone project is required after obtaining the professional designation to complete this certificate program.
In the customized foundations track, students will complete over 70 hours of distinctively designed training in the following areas: XHTML Level 1 and 2, Web Server Fundamentals, JavaScript Level 1, Web Design Level 1, Tools to Create Interactive Web Design and finally preparation for the CIW Foundations Exam. Each component is broken down into manageable courses to assist participants in successfully receiving the designation of CIW Associate.
CIW Associates have mastered the fundamental knowledge and skills required to work in an Internet technology-enabled environment. These foundational skills include basic knowledge of Internet technologies such as Web browsers, FTP and e-mail; Web page authoring using Extensible Hypertext Markup Language (XHTML); basic infrastructure networking, and project management. CIW Associate certification is valuable for individuals working in fields such as sales, business development, advertising, technical recruiting and other areas that depend on Web-enabled systems for productivity. To become a CIW Associate, the candidate must pass one required CIW exam 1D0-510 AND complete the CIW Certification Agreement. CIW Associate certification is also required to qualify for all CIW Professional and Master CIW certifications.
The CIW Foundations exam validates the basic hands-on skills and knowledge that a professional is expected to understand and use. Foundational skills include basic knowledge of Internet technologies, network infrastructure, Web authoring using XHTML, and job skills such as project management. The target audience for the CIW Associate is ideal for all professionals who use the Internet. This prerequisite certification is also required for all levels of specialization in the CIW program. CIW Associates will master the common core of Internet knowledge, and apply these foundational skills to further specialization. Public/Gov't Fee: $3,459 / $3,089 |
